It is no secret that the health care industry plays a vital role in Jacksonville’s sustainability. What many in our community do not know is that the arts play a very important role within that world of helping people heal.
The Up & Cummers (U&C), the Cummer Museum’s young affinity group, will host an event showcasing the work of local artists and organizations who utilize art as a healing mechanism for overcoming the struggles of dealing with disease, disability or disorder.
The event – What is Art: Art is Healing will be on Tuesday, May 24, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. U&C is thrilled to host and display the work of these individuals and organizations that are truly making a difference in our community. Featured artists and organizations include:
Angel Luna
The Arc Jacksonville
Art with a Heart in Healthcare
Dimelza Broche
